As the U.S. starts to open back up and people are trying to get back to a normal life, we at Gem City Gun Club will be trying to do the same. We want everyone to start enjoying outdoor activities again and get some long missed socialization with our fellow shooters.

We still have to be cautious and go about all of this safely and responsibly. There are going to be a few changes to how we run matches to make it a safer environment for all.

1. For now and the foreseeable future, masks will be required on Gem City Gun Club property while attending matches. Bring your own hand sanitizer and wipes to use on the stages. Gem City will have a it in the clubhouse. Clubhouse activity will be limited.

2. Registration will be on Practiscore and the shooting times will be as usual (both days will have morning and afternoon times) but  squads will be limited to 6 shooters. This also means that we will not be allowing any competitor to shoot multiple guns in the same squad.

3. We will have a cash box and give change using safe handling precautions. We ask that you keep in mind the 6' social distancing rule, especially inside the clubhouse.

4. Stage boxes will remain with, and move with each squad. This will make for less hands touching each item.  The duties of each shooter (RO, score keeper, etc.) will be left for each squad to decide how to safely perform the required tasks. We have all been living this lifestyle for a while now and should all be able to keep each other safe.  Mind the 6' social distancing.

5. We expect you to follow the state guidelines that are in place for your residence. So if you reside in a red zone and are under "Stay at Home" orders please follow those rules.

6. Please use your best discretion, thinking of your fellow shooter:
STAY HOME if you have these Covid-19 symptoms.
  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Diarrhea
  • Chills
  • Repeated shaking with chills
  • Muscle pain
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • New loss of taste of smell

We know that everyone is excited to get back out and start enjoying themselves again, because we are too! But please, be smart, kind, and courteous when it comes to all of this and hopefully we will have the groundwork for a safe and enjoyable summer.
